#Dazzle #Leith #Dazzleship #WW1 #Every #Women @EdArtFest @1418NOW @PhillipsCiara

Post by Lynn and Paul Henni

Creation of a modern dazzle ship.

Paul and I visited the port of Leith when we first heard work had started on painting MV Fingal to create, Every Woman, a dazzle ship co-commissioned by 1418NOW and EdArtFest as part of the WW1 commemorations.  This is it grey and ready for painting by Ciara Phillips and assistants.

We returned a week later, and amazingly, the sun was still shining on Leith.  A few bold sweeps of blue and pink had already appeared.

Somewhat perilous position for painting – here the artist and her assistant appeared to be marking up the underside ready for the bold pattern to follow.

Today – after a wait for the sunshine to return and raise the temperature enough for me  to be able to operate the camera – I saw the fabulous design in full glory; slightly reminiscent of Lichtenstein, it certainly dazzled!  It’s well worth a visit – it looks as though it will be around for another couple of days.

#4Reflect #Photo #Exhibition ends 11 Feb – last chance to see, selection of closing offers.

Four Reflect Exhibition: End of Exhibition 11th February 2015, selection of closing offers now available.

Once again, a big thanks again to our fine hosts The Roamin’ Nose.  It’s #healthkick time at the ‘Nose, so why not get along and try one of their healthy options such as a warm salad with Beetroot, roast baby parsnips, asparagus, artichokes, lentils & goats cheese? Cold? – there’s home made hot soup and it’s tasty. I know, because I test it out on your behalf on a regular basis.

Not fancying something healthy? There’s Barney’s beer, a great selection of moderately priced wines and cocktails. All god for washing down some home made pasta – my favourite when not tempted by a Roamin’ Burger, which is a proper one and gob-smackingly good too.

After eating and drinking, why not buy that nice print you have fancied, but not yet nabbed, before it disappears. It might even be one of those on offer?

As a reminder, Four Reflect is four local photographers presenting a range of images for sale. Open within the Roamin’ Nose Café and Bistro from the 13th November 2014, this exhibition will run until the 11th of February. More details on  the exhibition web page. Buy stuff off the  walls!

Four Reflect Exhibition: Now Refreshed & Renewed With New Images

We’ve now sold about half of the available Framed Frints, so have added some fresh stuff for your perusal.

As before,  big thanks again to The Roamin’ Nose, to Todd at B-Scenic for lending a professional air to proceedings and to all those who have bought something. More importantly – it’s cocktail season at the ‘Nose, so why not get along and try one:

Hazlenut Espresso Martini – best drunk at about 11:30am apparently, so an ideal pick-me-up after that Christmas Party. Mmm, French Toast and a Hazlenut Espresso Martini please I can hear you cry!

Fruits Of The Forest – It’s got fruit in it so it must be good for you at this time of year. Berries, Vodka, Ginger Ale.

Cointreau Coffee – Err, well, Cointreau and Coffee. You’ll love it.

All tested personally by the RN’s own Lucy and approved for drinking before buying that nice print you fancy giving Auntie Agnes (other friends and relatives can be nominated) for Christmas…

An Update – Now we’re up and running and have sold some prints, I thought I’d stick up some shots of the venue and how it looks when you let random photographers loose on your walls. Big thanks again to the RN and to Todd at B-Scenic for lending a professional air to proceedings.
