‘Edinburgh – Our City’ – Photographic Prints & Etchings at Dazzle@Dovecot 2016 Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition
This is one of a series of posts showing the image selections for our exhibition, ‘Edinburgh – Our City’, which includes a wide range of etchings and prints showing our take on our home city, Edinburgh.
I managed a sneak preview as they were setting up and testing today so have not yet experienced the full show with the lights sequenced to original music to make the figures appear to move. This sounds like something not to be missed!
Some of the figures look like rugby players which may reflect the upcoming Rugby 6 Nations – could this be Stuart Hogg preparing for Saturday’s clash against the auld enemy?
Or perhaps basketball players here…
Or even the Thin White Duke making his moves…
These ones look more like gymnasts.
This will no doubt be clearer when animated.
Scottish country dancing maybe?
2 stick-people chilling while watching the dancing.
A great night of fine curry, craft beers, chat and then a wee cabaret set, hosted by Hardeep Singh Kohli, on Friday night at V Deep. In true Scottish understatement style – they weren’t too bad. I’m not a comedian, as most of you are aware, so I’ll avoid the a Sikh, a Hindu, a Muslim and a McGonagall walk into a bar joke, partly because that’s just factual. The boy Kholi was joined by Imran Yusuf, Papa CJ and yer man Elvis and a good laugh was had by all.
I bumped into Elvis McGonagall in the Gents, as you do, had a chat and then, being a photographer, grabbed some shots of him as we were leaving. Unfortunately, the other guys had already fled the scene, so next next time perhaps.
So, to the photos. Couldn’t just pick one, so here’s a selection for you. That there’s an expressive face…
