‘Edinburgh – Our City’ – Photographic Prints & Etchings at Dazzle@Dovecot 2016 Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition
This is one of a series of posts showing the image selections for our exhibition, ‘Edinburgh – Our City’, which includes a wide range of etchings and prints showing our take on our home city, Edinburgh.
Today is apparently a day for Hearts, so here you go, Edinburgh’s own Heart of Midlothian on The Royal Mile in the Old Town. According to my vast research (on wikipedia), this commemorates the site of the old Tolbooth, the city prison and site of executions, leading to the tradition of spitting on it in relation to its sinister purpose.
It was David Bowie’s birthday on Friday (and Roy Batty’s), so we went along to the very fine Citrus Club in Grindlay Street for a live show with performances from FINGER HALO ( Ft. Jo Callis, from the Human League and The Rezillos, on guitar ), A LAD IN SPAIN ( mysteriously compiled from a local band), THE NORMANS ( ft. Norman Rodger ex. TV21), and Jeremy Thoms from the Cathode Ray.
I took a few shots in between bouts of jigging about and the odd slurp of booze. Shots taken a bit at random, but here you go anyway. A fun night was had by all.
