Today is apparently a day for Hearts, so here you go, Edinburgh’s own Heart of Midlothian on The Royal Mile in the Old Town. According to my vast research (on wikipedia), this commemorates the site of the old Tolbooth, the city prison and site of executions, leading to the tradition of spitting on it in relation to its sinister purpose.

There’s also Heart Of Midlothian FC, named after the Walter Scott novel of the same name. This blog is actually named after a former Hearts player, the Norwegian Roald Jensen, whose knickname was ‘Kniksen’, the link being my Norwegian birthplace and interest in Hearts.

henni.photo brings together Lynn Henni who has studied photography and film-making and Paul Henni who has a background as a freelance designer and sculptor. Their interest in urban imagery combined with a lifetime of living in and exploring their home city of Edinburgh brings a unique perspective to this beautiful and multi-faceted place. Sometimes gritty, often unexpected, their images present an insider’s perspective on the city.
