Post by Paul Henni.

A short post to recommend the article on the BFI website written by Patrick Russell and suggest a viewing of the film on the 1948 short promotional film “Waverley Steps.”, which can be viewed from the webpage or via the BFI Player. Whilst it is a somewhat stilted and idealised piece, it nevertheless provides some fine images of the city of 1948 and, for someone like me doing mainly black and white photography, some food for thought.

I also stumbled upon the BFI ‘Britain On Film’ page, which includes a link to the BFI map of films, also worth looking at for your area of interest.
